Today, alongside my fellow Leen Valley councillor Councillor Audrey Dinnall, we carried out a ward walk across part of our community, beginning on Ascot Road with colleagues from a number of Nottingham City Council departments. It was really positive to see residents from Eaton Close, Windsor Close and Thatcham Close coming out to speak with us directly and raise issues affecting their streets. We identified a number of concerns, including littering and fly-tipping, which we are now taking forward with the relevant Council teams and hope to see resolved very soon.
We then moved on to Grassington Road, where residents raised concerns around parking, which we will be looking into further. On Holbeck Road, we also saw a significant number of discarded balloon canisters. We take this issue seriously and will be working with the relevant authorities to explore what action can be taken to tackle it. We also visited Arbrook Road as part of the walk.
It was a really productive afternoon and, most importantly, a great opportunity to speak directly with residents across this part of Leen Valley. There is no substitute for getting out into our communities, seeing issues first-hand and listening to residents on their doorstep. We will continue to work with residents and Council teams to make sure the concerns raised with us are followed up and acted upon.
